Rental Assistance

The Religious Coalition provides financial assistance to Frederick County residents who are facing eviction. We do not assist with regular rent payments.

Provide the following to apply:

  • Court ordered eviction notice or rent court notice.
  • Documentation of hardship that required the need for assistance.
  • Proof of all household income (pay stubs).
  • Income and expense documentation for household.
  • Proof of sustainability after assistance is provided.

Security Deposit Assistance

The Religious Coalition provides assistance with security deposit for Frederick County residents who are at risk of becoming, or are actively homeless. Must be county residents prior to applying for assistance.

Assistance is not provided for a county resident’s relocation to Frederick County or those moving out of Frederick County.

Provide the following to apply:

  • Rental agreement/pending lease
  • Proof of all household income (pay stubs).
  • Proof of homelessness (may be obtained by Coalition staff)
  • Income and expense documentation.

Energy Assistance (Electric, Gas, Fuel Oil)

The Religious Coalition provides financial assistance to Frederick County residents who are experiencing active utility termination. This program run mid-April through the end of November with a termination notice. Assistance will be provided after that time to those that have had their utilities completely terminated.

Assistance is provided for utilities with termination notices only and does not assist with security deposit for utilities or with bills that are simply due.

Provide the following to apply:

  • DSS Paperwork/Referral
  • Termination notice (applicant’s name must be on the notice).
  • Proof of sustainability after assistance is provided
  • Proof of all household income (pay stubs).
  • Income and expense documentation for household.
  • The applicant must have made a payment on their bill within the last six(6) months.

For assistance with Fuel Oil, please provide the following:

  • DSS Paperwork/Referral
  • Proof of sustainability after assistance is provided
  • Proof of all household income (pay stubs).
  • Income and expense documentation for household.
