Contributing In-Kind
There are four areas where in-kind contributions are gratefully received.
The Alan P. Linton Jr. Emergency Cold Weather Shelter
needs the following donations (urgent needs are underlined):
Men’s Winter Gloves (L, XL, XX), Hats (no scarves)
WHITE Crew Socks – Lg. Men & Lg. Women
Adult Underwear/Undershirts
Men’s T-shirts: L, XL, XX, XXX; Men’s Briefs: 32, 34, 36, 38, 40; Women’s 7, 8, 9
Hot Cups of Instant Soup (Just Add Hot Water – No Microwave/Stove Access)
Maruchan “Instant Lunch”(Beef, Shrimp, Chicken) , (no Raman Noodles please)
Bottled water, instant tea or lemonade mixes
Large cans of Ground Coffee (caffeinated), plastic swizzle/stirrer sticks
Small packets of creamer & regular sugar (no sugar-substitutes please), snack crackers
Paper Hot Cups (8, 12 oz – no Styrofoam please), Plastic Forks, spoons, paper napkins
Microwavable paper plates & bowls, small packets of salt & pepper
Travel size: Deodorants(M&W), Kleenex, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer
Double-edge shaving razors, ladies feminine products, nail clippers
Foot deodorizer spray, Non-alcoholic mouthwash, small soaps/shampoo
Heavy Duty Trash Bags –33 or 40 Gal. & Kitchen size (no 30 gal. please)
2-ply toilet paper, “Select-a-size” paper towels, Kleenex, Ziplock sandwich bags
Blindfolds (for sleeping under emergency lights), ear plugs
Breathe-Right strips (prevents snoring)
Playing cards, Yatzee, puzzles
Batteries: 9V, AA
Cleaning Supplies: Chlorox, Chlorox Spray Cleaner, glass cleaners, Draino, Liquid Laundry Detergent, Disinfectant air freshener, Pinesol
Pillow Cases (standard size), shower slippers (Men & Women)
Backpacks, sleeping bags
Pocket-size “Recovery” Bibles, 4x6 or 8x10 clasp envelopes for client medications
Powder-Free Textured Latex Exam Gloves (large)
Medium Size White Towels
PLEASE: Due to an abundant supply on hand, we are not accepting hot chocolate, travel size soaps/shampoos/conditioners, shaving cream, hand lotions, shower caps, or shoe kits. Also, we do NOT accept used clothing, coats, colored towels, or blankets.
Please call the Alan P. Linton, Jr. Shelter at least 24 hours prior to delivering donations (301-631-2670 x112). Donations are received on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the Religious Coalition office between 10a-2p or at the shelter 7p-9p (27 DeGrange St., Frederick, MD.).
Since it costs $500 per night to operate the shelter, financial contributions can be sent to:

May 1 – October 31
Needs the following donations: Urgent needs are underlined
- Standard white pillow cases, standard twin sheets (matching fitted & top)
- Backpacks, bookbags, or dufflebags
- 10-trip city bus tickets, local event passes (movies, pools, Keys, etc. – group of 15)
- White Crew-top Socks – Lg. Women, Lg. Men (no low-cut socks please)
- Adult Underwear/Undershirts:
- Men’s: T-shirts, XL, L, M; Men’s Briefs: 32, 34, 36, 38, 40
- Women’s Briefs: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
- Beverages:
Canned soda’s (diet too), iced tea (cans, mix – no bags), lemonade (cans, box or mix), individual fruit juice boxes or pouches, ground coffee & sugar/cream pkgs.
- Snacks: individual size jello, puddings, cookies, crackers, food bars, chips, popcorn, etc.
- Maruchan “Instant Lunch” (no Raman Noodles please); salt/pepper pkgs.
- Freezer Items: Microwavable meals, ice cream sandwiches, popsicles
- Hot and cold paper cups: 12oz (no larger sizes please)
- Hygiene Items (full size, not travel size):
Deodorants, bar soaps, non-alcoholic mouthwash, Q-tips, nail clippers
- Plastic Soap Boxes, toothpaste, single toothbrushes, liquid laundry detergent
- Ear plugs, Breathe-Right strips (prevent snoring), blindfolds for sleeping
- Composition books, pens, pencils, post-it pads
- Batteries: 9V, AA & AAA sizes
- Cleaning Supplies: Pine Sol, Chlorox, Lysol Toilet Cleaner, Dawn Dish Liquid
- All purpose spray cleaners, glass cleaner, Draino, handsoap refills
- Heavy Duty Trash Bags –40+ gal. & 13 gal./kitchen size (no 30 or 33 gal size needed)
- 2-ply toilet paper, “Select-a-size” paper towels, personal size facial tissue
- Microwavable paper plates and bowls, Plastic forks, spoons (no knives please)
- Pocket-size Bibles, pocket planners/calendars, DVD Movies (PG rated)
- Regular size White Bath Towels, White hand towels, and White Wash Clothes

Donations are received daily between 6p-9p, or on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10a-2p at 27 DeGrange St., Frederick, MD. 21701. Please log items in our register and provide an estimated value for our annual in-kind contributions audit. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Hungry Families in Frederick Need Your Help
Now that the Scouting for Food Drive is over, affiliated food banks urgently need donated food and financial support to keep up with rising demand. We are seeing over 1100 families per month compared to 825 last year – a 40% increase. This is the largest increase in clients in 20 years in Frederick County. Our food banks depend upon donations from neighbors, churches, clubs and organizations, and businesses to keep their doors open.
The following is a list of items needed:

- HEALTHY CEREALS
- PASTA AND CANNED SAUCE

- DRIED BEANS

The Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs -
Emergency Pantry Package
We Need Your Financial Support
Your financial support is needed to provide Emergency Pantry Packages to poor families in Frederick County. Each package contains Household and Hygienic supplies that range from personal products to laundry
supplies.
The Coalition’s Package is composed of the following:
toilet paper • paper towels • baby powder • diapers •wipes • mouth wash • toothpaste • tooth brushes • deodorants • razors • combs • hair brushes • • tampons • shampoo • shaving cream • soap • detergent

The Religious Coalition is looking for churches, organizations and
groups to sponsor one month of the Emergency Pantry. It costs
$500.00 to operate the pantry for one month and the demand for these services is growing rapidly. Individuals donating $50.00 or more will support emergency supplies for one family.
