Religious Coalition Volunteers The Religious Coalition encourages people of faith to volunteer to help our neighbor in need just as the Good Samaritan in the Bible assisted the man in the ditch in his time. We believe that as God as had mercy on us, as God loves us and has made a difference in our lives, God calls us to help those less fortunate in our community. Church leaders from all over Frederick County established the Religious Coalition in 1981. From just a few volunteers in 1981, more than 400 men and women volunteer to serve the organization in a variety of capacities in 2007. Led by a strong and involved volunteer Board of Directors, volunteers provide time, knowledge, experience, skill and other resources to help those less fortunate in the Frederick community. The generosity of each volunteer allows the Religious Coalition to have fewer paid staff and enables them to provide important services to our neighbors in need. As a result of the unselfish contributions of volunteers, a greater portion of funding is used to directly benefit clients. There are many volunteer opportunities each making a difference for the clients we serve. Training is also available. Volunteer Needs and Opportunities
